About UHI Consultants
Universal Health Information Consultants (UHIC) is a private consultancy firm registered in Namibia and Lesotho and operating internationally. It provides public health consultancy services around research, evaluation, policy development and review.
The organisation provides technical support to governments, civil society, humanitarian organisations and private entities. Technical support offered extends to program data for organisations addressing key developmental issues of poverty, health, education, children and adolescent issues, sexual reproductive health and HIV and AIDS.
The organisation aims to contribute meaningfully to poverty eradication and development of the region through evidence-based program and policy development as well as monitoring and evaluation. In addition to the above, UHIC also strives to promote ethical and effective development responses to the HIV epidemic and its impact through HIV knowledge management, capacity development, advocacy, policy analysis and research with special regard to gender, children and adolescents, human rights, and other development concerns.
Our core strengths include:
- Strengthening capacities of local organisations in Research, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- Leadership in identifying and addressing HIV issues, and its integration with sexual and reproductive health; gender; human rights; child and adolescent development
- Capacity strengthening of partner organisations and regional bodies in HIV, health and related development issues, for a multiplier effect of good practice in the region
- Interrogation and harmonisation of policy and advocacy issues towards transformative legislative reform and sequel implementation
- Production and targeted dissemination of cutting edge, evidence-based behaviour change information (IEC, training, advocacy & other materials) for diverse audiences
- Documenting operational research and Best Practices towards promotion of “What works” and inform policy, programme and resource mobilisation decisions
- Applying information to influence advocacy for social and policy change related to HIV, gender, Children and adolescents, human rights and other development areas.
